Brazos Drive-In has run under the stars on W Pearl Street in Granbury since 1952, and it is one of the last handful of drive-ins left in Texas. One screen, sound on FM 89.1, and a grassy play area under the screen where kids run off energy before the first feature.

Reviewers put the gate at $20 a car for a double feature, and the concession stand will deliver a hot dog or nachos to your car. Outside food and drink are not permitted, well behaved pets on a leash are, and you are welcome to set out chairs beside your vehicle. Arrive about 30 minutes early: spots are first come, they cannot be saved, and rain does not stop the show.

Before you go

Know before you go

  • On a busy summer night, get there about 30 minutes early
  • Most standard-sized vehicles fit. Drivers of oversized vehicles are asked to contact the theater in advance for parking arrangements.
  • Rain or shine, the movie plays

  • Bring a working car radio if you can. One reviewer paid $5 for a rental radio and heard mostly static.
  • Park close to the parking poles so two vehicles fit in each spot, and meet your group outside the gate so you can enter in one ticket line.

FAQ

Questions about Brazos Drive-In Theater, answered

How many screens does Brazos Drive-In have?

Brazos Drive-In has one screen. Everybody on the lot watches the same film, so there is nothing to choose when you arrive. Park where you like, tune your radio and wait for the light to go.

What FM frequency does Brazos Drive-In use?

Brazos Drive-In broadcasts its soundtrack on 89.1 FM. The audio comes through your own car stereo rather than a speaker on a post. If your car cannot run its radio with the engine off, bring a portable one.

Can I rent a radio at Brazos Drive-In?

Brazos Drive-In rents radios at the counter: $5 for a portable FM radio rental on-site (per a 2025-09-06 Google review); car radios also pick up 89.1 FM free. It is worth one if you plan to sit outside the car, or if running your stereo for four hours would flatten your battery. They go quickly on a busy night, so ask when you arrive rather than at the interval.

What time does the movie start at Brazos Drive-In?

What Brazos Drive-In says: The theater posted 7:45 pm for the first movie on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Full dark that night was 7:29 pm, so the movie started about 16 minutes after dark. In October it gets dark around 7:23 pm. Check with the theater on the day you go.

How much does Brazos Drive-In cost?

Admission to Brazos Drive-In is $20 a carload. That is one price for the whole vehicle, so five of you pay what two would.

Can I bring my own food to Brazos Drive-In?

Brazos Drive-In does not allow outside food or drink. Everything you eat has to come from the counter, which is how a lot like this one keeps its gate price down. Eat before you go, or plan on buying dinner there.

Are dogs allowed at Brazos Drive-In?

Dogs are welcome at Brazos Drive-In as long as the leash stays on. Keep it short near other cars, bring water, and clean up afterwards. A nervous dog is worth leaving at home, because sound carries across a lot.
