Hi-Way Drive-In in Carsonville, Michigan is temporarily closed. A power surge after electrical work along M-46 damaged most of its equipment, and the projector still needs a part before it can play first-run movies again.
The owner says movies will be booked as soon as the projector is back, and no reopening date has been set. Opened in 1948, it calls itself Michigan's oldest drive-in, and the lot at the Black River Fairgrounds still hosts events such as its Trunk or Treat.
