History
The history of Star View Drive-In Theater
Star View opened October 1, 1949 with the western "Corner Creek," built by Jerry Steele and Lou Ratener and managed by Ernest Plitz.
The wooden screen tower burned down mid-show in 1953 and was rebuilt; a second wooden tower collapsed in a 1971 windstorm and was replaced with the steel tower still standing today. Jerry's son Bill Steele took over in 1957 and sold the theater in 2007 to longtime employees Steve Witter and Jan Doughty.
