History

The history of CenterBrook Drive-In Theater

The Centerbrook Drive-in opened on Tuesday, May 2, 1950, on State Road 67 between Mooresville and Martinsville, and takes its name from the nearby towns of Centerton and Brooklyn. A tornado blew down its original wooden screen in the 1960s.

Robert and Stacia Zloty bought the drive-in at a sheriff's sale and reopened it on September 1, 2000, after a closure. Tyler Tharpe, who started working there in 2001, bought it from the Zlotys in 2008 and still runs it today. It is the last of four drive-ins that once operated in Morgan County and the oldest drive-in in the Indianapolis metro area.
