Reviews
What visitors say about Tascosa Drive-In Theater
From 568 visitor reviews, 4.7 stars.
New ownership praised, service hiccups early in the 2026 season
- Most 2026 reviews (Mar-Sep) call the new owners a big improvement over the previous operator and praise staff by name.
- A 1* review (2026-04-14) reported a 1.5-hour concession line and the owner smoking a cigar inside the stand; the owner's reply blamed a new POS system running on one register for the first two weeks of the season.
Playground surface
- A 4* review (2026-07-14) said the playground near the front is mostly dirt and rocks and that a child was hurt there; other reviews mention the playground positively without the safety note.
Before you go
Know before you go
- The box office opens 7:30 pm*
- Hatchbacks must stay level with the roofline (twine available at concessions or the ticket booth) so they don't block the view behind them
- Rain or shine, the movie plays
- Rent a radio at concessions if you plan to sit outside the vehicle; reviewers repeatedly call the rental radios worth it.
- Concession lines get long right before showtime since gates open two hours ahead of the movie.
- Big Jim's Pizza delivery skips the $10 outside-food pass; any other delivery driver must be met at the gate.

FAQ
Questions about Tascosa Drive-In Theater, answered
How many screens does Tascosa Drive-In have?
Tascosa Drive-In has one screen. Everybody on the lot watches the same film, so there is nothing to choose when you arrive. Park where you like, tune your radio and wait for the light to go.
What FM frequency does Tascosa Drive-In use?
Tascosa Drive-In broadcasts its soundtrack on 103.5 FM. The audio comes through your own car stereo rather than a speaker on a post. If your car cannot run its radio with the engine off, bring a portable one.
Can I rent a radio at Tascosa Drive-In?
Tascosa Drive-In rents radios at the counter: $3.12 with a card and ID held as deposit, or a $35 refundable deposit without an ID. It is worth one if you plan to sit outside the car, or if running your stereo for four hours would flatten your battery. They go quickly on a busy night, so ask when you arrive rather than at the interval.
What time does the movie start at Tascosa Drive-In?
What Tascosa Drive-In says: The theater posted about 8:55 pm for the first movie on September 4, 2026. Full dark that night was 8:36 pm, so the movie started about 19 minutes after dark. In October it gets dark around 7:38 pm. Check with the theater on the day you go.
When is Tascosa Drive-In open?
For the 2026 season, Tascosa Drive-In is open from March to October, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. It closes for the winter and reopens in the spring, so a trip outside those months is not possible.
How much does Tascosa Drive-In cost?
Admission to Tascosa Drive-In is $9.36 per adult, $5.20 per child 4-10. Two adults and two children come to $29.12. Children 3 and under get in free.
Can I bring my own food to Tascosa Drive-In?
You can bring your own food to Tascosa Drive-In once you have bought a permit for $10 a car. The permit is worth it if you were going to spend more than that at the counter anyway. Without one, outside food is not allowed in.
Are dogs allowed at Tascosa Drive-In?
Dogs are welcome at Tascosa Drive-In as long as the leash stays on. Keep it short near other cars, bring water, and clean up afterwards. A nervous dog is worth leaving at home, because sound carries across a lot.
