Midway Drive-In Theater sat on Highway 86 east of Quitaque, Texas, halfway to Turkey, which is where the name comes from.
It showed its last movies in 2011, when the switch to digital projection cost more than it could carry, and it is closed for good.

History
The history of Midway Drive-In Theater
Opened east of Quitaque, midway between Turkey and Quitaque, Texas, by C.C. Hamm and Harry Burnhill, who also ran the Gem Theatre in Turkey. Cinema Treasures dates the opening to 1955 with a 250-car capacity, though a March 1953 Billboard item on construction starting and a 2025 comment both put the opening in 1953.
Closed in 1987, reopened in 2000, skipped the 2005 season, then closed for good after the 2011 season when the switch to digital projection proved unaffordable. A 2025 site-visit comment found the lot overgrown with debris, projection booth still standing.
