History
The history of Reynolds Drive-In Theater
Reynolds Drive-In opened in 1947 near Transfer, Pennsylvania, under owner Carl McKnight. The theater closed after the 2014 season when the owners could not afford the switch to digital projection. A windstorm destroyed the original 1947 screen tower in November 2020, and new owners built a 44 by 88 foot screen and held a grand reopening for movies on May 6, 2022.
Those owners put the drive-in up for sale in October 2025, and the Bardwell family, Bill, Galina, Lucas and Nikolay, bought it on June 15, 2026. They run it as the Reynolds Drive-In & Event Center, which also hosts a Sunday flea market.
